The W-Day was set, atlast! Jan.15, 2011

At last the W-day was set and finalized. It’s on January 15, 2011 hoping and praying everything will turn out fine even the weather.

Last week after we got our marriage license at municipality, we went to St. John the Baptist Parish at Calumpit, Bulacan for filing all the documents needed. We were asked to fill the form and answer some Christian’s questions; maybe the purpose is to check how you knew about Catholic Sacraments and to check if you really ready to get married.

After all form was filled up, we were asked on when will be the date of your wedding and what time? We asked if Jan.15, 3PM is available. The parish employee said the date is available but the time is not. He said that the time available is 9AM, 11AM and 1PM. And the nearest time to 3PM is 01:00PM so that’s the time we chose, nothing thinking that it will be hassle for our guest and sponsors to start at 1PM and end up to 3PM. I’m sure everyone will get mad coz of starving. We plan to change the time schedule when we get back on Saturday for the Wedding Seminar.

We were asked to pay 300php for the registration fee and back on Dec.04 for the seminar and gave us two paper to be given to parish where we live, this is the Marriage Banns.

Marriage banns, also called the banns of marriage, serve as a formal announcement of intent to marry. By tradition, marriage banns are called in many Christian churches. In order to be considered valid, marriage banns must be read or called during services on three Sundays before the wedding in the parish church of the bride and the groom. Typically, the marriage banns state the name and parish of both bride and groom, and indicate that individuals with objections to the marriage should make those objections known before the wedding day. The practice of reading the marriage banns in all parishes concerned ensures that anyone who objects to the marriage will have ample opportunity to do so before the actual day of the wedding.

After the three Sundays were complete we can get our Marriage Banns from church signed by Parish Priest and were ready to go. Yehey!
